Drowning Prevention Device

Created on 28 Nov 2015

Capacitive sensing in liquid to prevent children from drowning.

Drowning is a leading cause of death among children ages 1-4 and most drownings in this age group occur in home swimming pools or bathtubs. Using swept frequency capacitive sensing, our project will be able to detect when a child or infant becomes completely submerged in water and signal an alarm. We aim for our project to be small and easy to integrate with existing infant bathtubs and kiddie pools.
