A bot to help people navigate and explore spaces
Basically, the idea is to create a simple rover coupled with obstacle sensors and a mobile app that provides haptic (and visual) feedback to help people navigate complicated spaces. We're designing this for situations where service dogs aren't viable (spaces where they aren't allowed or spaces where they just don't work well) and generally small spaces. At the very least, we're building a mobile webcam- something that, for example, can go around a room and explore it on command to allow someone else to explore the space vicariously (or navigate it).
Implementation: first Arduino/RPi, Omniwheels, hc-sr04's, mobile app; then add cameras, figure out exploration algorithms, more sensors.
