Experience the true drama and adrenaline of survival as you fly through narrow gaps in immersive first person VR

With our hot take on the infamous Flappy Bird game, you will be able to flap your wings to control yourself and see through the eyes of the Flappy. How far can you go? After getting into our harness and putting on our Google Daydream VR headset, players will flap our wing controllers and take to the sky. With each flap of their arms, our wing sensors will send a signal to our harness system that will safely lift them up into the air and reinforce the sensation of upward flight. Of course, players will have to keep flapping their wings to maintain altitude just as they do in the original game; the harness system will slowly lower players if they stop flapping.

Our frame is coming along well and we have bluetooth working!

Everything works and we have integrated all the parts except for the motion sensor for flapping, and we are making do with a remote. A video of live flight is at the following link (on my facebook profile, we were live for a bit): https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1000152... Also, there's a video on the previously linked youtube channel.

We have successfully suspended, lifted, and lowered a test dummy!

A further update: We have raised and lowered Roberto, a 200-pound handsome man!

Our project now supports bluetooth communication between the wing, motor, and phone bluetooth modules!!! All that remains is to connect the motor bluetooth endpoint to the actual motor.

This was the best Build 18 of my career. We finished literally everything we wanted and it was not last minute. We presented and nothing exploded. Such a smooth experience. Shout out to all the officers for helping us out and being bros.

hit some bugs and build problems. Our team marches forward and waiting for that second wind.
Austin Milford-Rosales 19 Jan 2018, 6:38 a.m. EST
We now have successful flapping due to Maverick's useage of the brutal connection method!
Austin Milford-Rosales 18 Jan 2018, 5:33 p.m. EST
Our game now works! We are hoping to complete the flap detector for the arm soon so that we have a complete harness-independent game, leaving harness integration for later tonight.

we figured out how to live stream the view from the vr headset through youtube, but may change in the future. Here's the link to the channel where all streaming will happen: https://gaming.youtube.com/channel/UCjTWyx2A16A...

All of our software is working, our arduinos are behaving as expected, and the game is functional, the phone is connecting to both bluetooth modules correctly, the custom shield for the wrist flapping part works great, and we have no way to move this structure to the site of the demos without taking it apart. Hopefully we'll see y'all there!
