Building a powerful electric longboard from first principles

An electric longboard can be decoupled into 5 subsystems: the LiPo batteries which deliver power, the ESC which controls the Brushless DC Motor, a controller to adjust the speed, a motor to turn electrical energy into mechanical energy, and a powertrain to deliver that mechanical energy to the ground. In this project, we will build our own electric longboard from first principles. Projected cost $1000
